About

Welcome to The Blue Duck

Founded in 2014, we’re a New American BYO restaurant located in the heart of Northeast Philadelphia with the feel of a Center City eatery. Tucked inside a strip mall near Holme Circle — mere steps from where co-owners Joe Callahan, Jr. and Kris Serviss attended grade school — the Blue Duck prides itself in crafting delicious dishes that offer a playful twist on traditional classics. And that, most importantly, taste incredible.

Everyday menu items range from $10-$26 and include the 2014 Philadelphia Burger Brawl champion and nationally-recognized Pork Roll Burger (topped with Sriracha mayo and a fried egg), Beast of Northeast Philly (with signature sweet tomato jam) and Quack & Cheese. For dinner, Serviss allows his creativity to shine with offerings such as bacon-wrapped wild boar meatloaf, pan-seared scallops and homemade pasta. We also concoct rotating daily dinner specials that are posted on our social media accounts (@blueduckphilly).

The Duck also offers brunch every Saturday & Sunday from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.,
highlighted by homemade Chicken & Waffles and our Duck Benedict.

Team

Joe Callahan

Co-Owner/Proprietor

Having grown up around the corner from The Blue Duck Joe knows the vibe of the neighborhood as well as anyone. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Jen, and hanging out on their deck with a good glass of red wine. His favorite food is uni and he’s an unabashed lover of Australian Shepherds and Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.

Kris Serviss

Co-Owner/Executive Chef

Born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia, Kris is longtime friends with his co- owner, Joe, and both attended Father Judge High School together. Kris started cooking at the age of 13 and hasn’t stopped since, including attending The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill. Kris is also a proud father and selfproclaimed social butterfly.

Nick Cammarota

General Manager

A longtime sports journalist turned restaurateur, Nick grew up in Northeast Philadelphia, left for a while, and absolutely loves being back. When he’s not at The Duck, Nick pays way too much attention to baseball and likes to pretend he can cook as well as the chefs on the line.
